Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare set in Messina, Italy. Count Claudio falls in love with Hero, the governor's daughter. Their upcoming wedding is nearly destroyed when the villainous Don John tricks Claudio into believing Hero has been unfaithful. Hero's cousin Beatrice and their friend Benedick engage in a "merry war" of witty insults and claim they will never marry. Their friends trick them into overhearing fake conversations that reveal they actually love each other. A bumbling night watchman named Dogberry exposes Don John's evil plot. Hero is proven innocent, and both couples reunite to get married.
