About Us

The heartbeat of arts and culture in Kainaliu Town.

Our History

The Aloha Theatre was built in 1932 in the heart of Kainaliu on Hawai’i Island. Ideally located 8 miles South of Kailua-Kona and 1 mile North of Kona Community Hospital on Highway 11.

For nearly a century, we have served as a gathering place for the community, preserving the historic spirit of our "makai" side home while fostering artistic expression for future generations.

Mission

To enrich the lives of Hawaii residents and visitors by providing quality live theatre, performing arts education, and a venue for artistic expression.

Vision

To be an anchor in West Hawaii for shared artistic experiences in our historic space. We will be recognized for our commitment to our diverse home culture, enabling participation for all, regardless of background, experience, or ability.

Values

We strive to live up to our name by fostering the feeling of ‘Ohana. We are committed to cultivating a respectful, inclusive environment that reflects the rich culture of our Hawai’i home.
