APAC & ATT HOLDS HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL AUDITIONS

Auditions for APAC/ATT's production of Disney's High School Musical are:

Aloha Teen Theatre, a division of Aloha Performing Arts Company, has announced open auditions for "Disney's High School Musical." The auditions will be on October 27th and 28th, 2008 at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu, starting promptly at 6:30p.m. All ages are welcome to audition. The stage adaptation of the famous movie is centered around a group of energetic teens at East High School in an unspecified city. The jocks, the brainiacs, and the theatre geeks populate this fast paced show, which has great heart, warm humor, hip and tuneful contemporary music, and an underlying message.

APAC HOLDS "ROCKY HORROR SHOW" AUDITIONS

Aloha Performing Arts Company will hold open auditions for Richard O'Brien's cult classic rock musical "The Rocky Horror Show" on Sunday August 24 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday August 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. Seventeen volunteer singer/dancer/actors are sought for this production, which will be presented October 17 through November 1. Some crew positions are available also. Rehearsals will be conducted Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons beginning September 2. Weeknight rehearsals will be 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday rehearsals will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

All roles are open, and newcomers are encouraged to audition. Characters are:

  • Dr. Frank N. Furter, a cross dressing mad scientist from the planet of Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania, with good moves and a belting rock and roll voice of considerable range

APAC will be casting the four plays selected for the 15th annual Original Play Festival at auditions on Sunday July 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aloha Theatre. Approximately 30 actor/readers are sought for the festival. Rehearsals, beginning July 9, will be minimal (five per play) and memorization is not required, as the shows are presented as staged readings, with actors carrying scripts. OPF XV will be presented at the Aloha Theatre August 13-16 nightly at 7:30 p.m.

APAC SEEKS ACTORS FOR PLAY FESTIVAL

Aloha Performing Arts Company will be holding auditions for approximately 30 actor/readers for its 15th annual Original Play Festival on Sunday July 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. The festival will be presented at the theatre August 13 through 16. Actor/readers will not be required to memorize lines, as the festival features new, unproduced theatrical works in staged reading format, with actors carrying scripts. Each play will rehearse once a week for five weeks and will be performed only once, so the rehearsal and performance commitment is minimal compared to mainstage shows.

The Aloha Performing Arts Company will be holding auditions for "Seussical Junior " May 3rd and 4th at 1:00pm at the Loft in Kainaliu. Ages 4 -18 are encouraged to audition. Adults will not be cast as this is a junior show. Sue Boyum is director, and Lee Vinson is choreographer.
