TRACY TO DIRECT ON OAHU

Aloha Performing Arts Company's artistic director, Jerry Tracy, will be on Oahu through May, guest directing "The Foreigner" at Honolulu's Manoa Valley Theatre. Tracy directed the Hawaii premiere of the comedy at MVT in 1986, and has directed it twice for APAC, in 1993 and 2002. Production dates for "The Foreigner" are May 3 through 21.

During Tracy's sabbatical, local educator Sue Boyum, fresh from playing the narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," will be directing Robert Harling's "Steel Magnolias" for APAC, and Molly McGivern will teach his weekly Tuesday Trouper acting class for 8-12 year olds. McGivern was featured in the recent APAC productions of "The Sound of Music," "The Rocky Horror Show," and "The Vagina Monologues," and the upcoming "Steel Magnolias." The Tuesday Trouper class will run for 10 weeks, April 4 through May 30, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuition is $120, and enrollment is limited, so parents and guardians are advised to pre-register students by calling the APAC office at 322-9924.
