The Aloha Performing Arts Company ( APAC) and the Aloha Teen Theatre (ATT) are pleased to announce the cast for the 2007 ATT Touring show Babies Having Babies by Kathryn Montgomery and Jeffrey Auerbach. Finding themselves together in a teen pregnancy counseling session, five very different girls find common ground and begin to understand the impact of their choices. Awarded with four Daytime Emmys, the 1987 ACT Special Stop, Look and Listen Award, the Nancy Susan Reynolds Award for Sexual Responsibility in the Media, the 1986 Youth in Films Award, and nominated by the Writer's Guild of American for Best Children's Script, this play offers an honest and frank look at the complex issues of teenage pregnancy. The play has 6 female and 2 male roles as follows: LISA, the preppie senior who is more than she seems will be played by Christi Halverson, and understudied by BriAnna Johnson; KELLY, an all-American cheerleader will be played by Elise Levin; MAX, a trashy- chic teen who speaks her own mind will be played by Jaquelynn Collier; BRENDA, a low-income young teen who is 7 months pregnant will be portrayed by Chamika Fujioka; MARY PAT, an intelligent but plain looking teen, 8 months pregnant will be played by Sandra Burck; HENRY, the scruffy custodian will be played by Eugene Gall; Mrs. Chapman, the pregnancy counselor will be alternately portrayed by Patricia 'Iolana and Jillian Collier; and the hot-shot PIZZA DELIVERY BOY will be played by Tyler Wood. The tour is directed by Patricia 'Iolana, assisted by Kelly Duff and Katelyn Howard, and managed by Jillian Collier.

The Babies Having Babies 2007 Tour will begin Monday April 30th. Approximately ten performances are being scheduled with West Hawaii intermediate and high schools. The Tour will conclude with a free public performance at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu on Friday, May 11 th at 7:00p.m. If you are interested in bringing this show to your school, please contact tour coordinator Jill at 896-1003 to immediately schedule a performance.
