"The Phantom Tollbooth" is written by Susan Nanus, based on the famous children's book of the same name by Norton Juster. It follows Milo as he passes through the tollbooth of the title into the Land of Wisdom, where he learns of a feud between Azaz and the Mathemagician, about whether words or numbers are more important. The princesses Rhyme and Reason have been banished to the Land of Ignorance as a result, and Milo rescues them, using skills he picks up on his journey. He regrets having to finally return home, but is enriched by his experiences and in possession of a new attitude toward learning. Performance dates are October 8-24, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 2:30. Scripts are available for onsite perusal at the APAC office Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. til 4:00 p.m., or by special arrangement. For more information, call 322--9924.
