APAC SEEKS ACTORS FOR PLAY FESTIVAL

Aloha Performing Arts Company will be holding auditions for approximately 30 actor/readers for its 15th annual Original Play Festival on Sunday July 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. The festival will be presented at the theatre August 13 through 16. Actor/readers will not be required to memorize lines, as the festival features new, unproduced theatrical works in staged reading format, with actors carrying scripts. Each play will rehearse once a week for five weeks and will be performed only once, so the rehearsal and performance commitment is minimal compared to mainstage shows.

The scripts chosen for OPF XV will be available for on-site perusal beginning July 1. Other specific information, such as directors and exact rehearsal schedules, will be available at that time also. The festival is a unique experimentation opportunity for those curious about the theatre but wary of the time and memorization requirements. No experience is required and newcomers are welcome. Potential actor/readers are welcome but not required to attend both days of auditions; once is sufficient. The auditions will consist primarily of reading from the scripts.
