Just Give it a Bash

Just give it a Bash is a workshop for seniors on scene work.
We will read scenes from plays with one to be selected for a performance. Crafts To Learn will be about stage techniques, which includes getting into character, motivation, voice projection and clarity, posture and moving on the stage, and how to interject a little improvisation now and then.

Dramatic Imagination

Ages: 8 and up (Intergenerational class)

Dramatic Imagination is an intergenerational acting workshop, a place for all ages from 8 years old to 80. It is part improvisational and part learning a script to put on a short show of our own making. It involves learning control, confidence, speeding up the brain process, trust and developing a fully realized character.

Just Do It is an improvisation class for middle school students and above. Improvisation helps you with auditions, performances, and is a lot of fun. You will learn to think quickly on your feet, become spontaneous and make exciting dramatic choices. Our presentation at the end of the session, will involve some audience participation.

Boot Camp Bag Workout and Plyometrics

If you’re looking to reinvigorate or jump-start your workout, these are the workouts for you!
Boot Camp Bag workout focuses on kicking and punching stationary targets, cardio and flexibility.  If you have no training in martial arts or years of training in martial arts, this is an excellent excellent workout for you.  The stations are tailored for individuals to get the most out of each exercise REGARDLESS of their skill level. 
Plyometrics are a series of  high-impact, cardio, leg strengthening, fat-burning, ab-busting movements designed to make you leaner and more explosive in your movements. If you are looking for tone, definition, or weight loss, this is a fantastic exercise!

Acting for Keiki

Acting for Keiki is a place for those kids who really like to ham it up. Their artistic beings will be encouraged in this fun and exciting learning environment.

Viewpoints

In this class/workshop we will be using the improvisational technique of Vewpoints to help the actors gain a deeper and more intuitive understanding and use of Space, Shape, Time, Emotion, Movement, and Story (SSTEMS). Each element of Viewpoints is introduced separately in order for the actor to gain a full understanding and use of it, so they are able to focus on one component reacting from intuition rather than analytical consciousness. Once all aspects are explored and learned the group will decide on a central theme from which we will build an experimental final project to be shown at the end of the course.

Tae Kwon Do

Tae kwon do is a Korean martial art that means “the ways of hands and feet” and the national sport of South Korea. It is the world's most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners. Formally, there are two main styles of tae kwon do. The one in this class comes from the Kukkiwon, the source of the sparring system sihap gyeorugi which is now an event at the summer Olympic Games and which is governed by the World Tae kwon do Federation (WTF).

Technical Theatre

Beginning Body Movement with Amma

Dancing with Amma will offer various dance moves and techniques in several different styles including, jazz, hip-hop, and Broadway. An advanced class is available Tues and Thurs 5:30-6:30pm by audition only.
