"The Rocky Horror Show" is a unique rock musical, in that it involves audience participation throughout. On the way to visit an old college professor, two young kids run into tire trouble and seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank N. Furter, who is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments. What follows is a night of gothic fun and debauchery with the sweet transvestite and his motley crew of misfits. Jerry Tracy, fresh from directing the show at Honolulu's Manoa Valley Theatre, will be at the helm, with Randy Ressler as music director, Lee Vinson as choreographer, and Dick Gray as choral director.
Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to start time, and those auditioning will be seen in small groups in order of arrival. Comfortable clothing and closed shoes are recommended. Auditions will consist of reading from the script, learning a short movement routine, and singing a few bars of "The Star Spangled Banner," or a few bars of one of the songs in the show. Scripts and scores are available for on site perusal at the APAC business office in the Aloha Theatre, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. The directors hope to be able to cast the show entirely with adults. Those under age 18 may audition only with a signed parental/guardian consent form. Audition forms and consent forms are available online at www.apachawaii.org.
